A Call to Strip Immunities of the Perpetrators of the 1988 Massacre in Iran

Sir David Amess issued an statement on Thursday March 3rd by undertaking a meta-partisan initiative in line with the international movement with 80 Members of parliament for justice for litigating those who are responsible for the massacre of 30 thousand political prisoners occurred in Iran in 1988the Senior Member of the House of Commons and the Joint Chair of the British Parliamentary Committee for Iran Freedom.
In his statement, Sir David Amess referred to the resolution and stated: “the United Nations can no longer neglect the massacre of political prisoners occurred in 1988 while the number of executions is increasing in Iran. We are deeply concerned about the sharp rise of death penalties In Iran and particularly the execution of juveniles. According to the reports from Iran, 87 people have been executed by the authorities of the regime in January.
the Joint Chair of the British Parliamentary Committee for Iran Freedom, Sir David Amess at the end said: “we expect the UN to consider our demand in the next resolution; the demand of all party Members of the parliament which was greatly supported by the House of Lords as well as the Western parliament Members regarding the condition of human rights in Iran. We call on the British government, the UN Special Rapporteur on Iran, and the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights to take necessary steps towards the goal."

In an article in The Washington Times, Alex Carlile of Berriew - a Liberal Democrat member of the United Kingdom’s House of Lords and co-chairman of the British Parliamentary Committee for Iran Freedom, urged the UN to stop ignoring Iran’s terrorist activities.
He said that just as parents do not reward a child’s bad behaviour, policymakers should do the same. Yet this does not happen with regards to the Iranian regime that has been carrying out human rights abuses for decades. Recently a British charity worker was sentenced to five years’ imprisonment on made-up national security charges.

Statement on the Relocation of PMOI members from Iraq to Europe
Today, we learned that after 13 years of painstaking work in defence of the security, and to protect the rights of members and supporters of the Poeple's Mojahedin Organisation of Iran (PMOI), in Camp Ashraf and in later Camp Liberty in Iraq, finally, all members and supporters of the organisation, have officially been accepted by the government of Albania and all have been moved to that country.
Undoubtedly, today counts as a great and historic day for the democratic opposition and resistance of the Iranian people and all of us as supporters of this liberation movement.
During the last 13 years, the Iranian regime employed all possible destructive tactics against the PMOI in Iraq.
The regime provided extensive financial and military support for the terrorist groups in Iraq, resulting in 8 missile attacks against the innocent residents of Camps Ashraf and Liberty in Iraq.

Lord Carlile of Berriew QC supports 'Free Iran' rally: 'time for justice'
NCRI - Lord Carlile of Berriew, QC, a leading British parliamentarian and Joint Chair of the British Parliamentary Committee for Iran Freedom, called on major global institutions and governments to persuade the Iranian regime, 'if necessary, with sanctions, that they cannot go on in the way in which they have. It is time for justice, fairness, equality and proper civil institutions for the people of Iran.'
Describing the situation in Iran under President Rouhani as 'shocking', Lord Carlile, outlined a few examples of the repression and violence of the Iranian regime at home and abroad. There are, he said, 'thousands of political prisoners in Iran.' In Syria, the regime was 'sponsoring the recruitment of child soldiers;' and, in Iraq, it was 'creating chaos'.

Nearly 400 British MPs and Peers outline new Iran policy
At a conference in the House of Commons on Thursday, June 30, UK policy toward Iran was discussed by a panel consisting of experts on Iranian affairs and parliamentarians from both Houses of Parliament and each major political party.
The parliamentarians expressed their concern over recent increases in the number of executions in Iran and the use of barbaric punishments such as flogging and amputations by Iranian authorities.
