NCRI Foreign Affairs Committee Member Comments on New Sanctions Against the Regime by US Congress

Shahin Gobadi, a member of the NCRI Foreign Affairs Committee, commented on the adoption of a bill by the US Senate and House of Representatives on the Iranian regime for violating human rights and pursuing ballistic missiles.
He called the bill that included extending sanctions on the IRGC for its role in terrorism, as a positive and important step.
Gobadi also commented on the following steps for full implementation of this bill and the need to complete these sanctions with urgent actions against officials in charge of executions, torture and particularly the massacre of 30,000 political prisoners in 1988.

Tightening the sanctions on Iran

US Senate to Vote on New Sanctions Against Iran Regime
US Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell is turning the Senate toward passing tougher sanctions against Iran's regime, The Hill reported late on Monday.
The Kentucky Republican teed up a procedural vote for Wednesday on the Iran Destabilizing Activities Act. If lawmakers drag out debate on the legislation, a final vote could take place as late as Thursday evening.
 As Maryam Rajavi welcomed the positions adopted by the Arab Islamic American Summit vis-à-vis the Iranian regime's conduct
 and in  reiterated that the censure of the clerical regime's actions and crimes must be pursued and realized through practical measures, specifically by severing ties with the ruling theocracy, expelling it from international organizations, designating the Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps (IRGC) as well as other military, paramilitary and security forces affiliated with the regime as terrorist organizations, and expelling them from the region.

Message of Maryam Rajavi to the Conference at the US Senate

briefing entitle "New Administration and Iran Policy Options" in washington D.C

A briefing entitled "option the new government and Iran policy" by the Iranian-American community, OIAC was held. Guests of the meeting,were  Senator John McCain ,Senator Robert Menendez, former Senator Joseph Lieberman, Tom Ridge , and Ambassador Mitchell Reiss in this visit.

They condemned the flagrant violations of human rights in Iran and the clerical regime's meddling in the region.

They stressed on the need to adopt a firm policy on the religious dictatorship ruling Iran.

Members of Washington-based diplomatic missions as well as representatives of the American and international mass media attended the briefing.
Message of Maryam Rajavi to the Conference at the US Senate

Maryam Rajavi the president elect of National Council of Resistance of Iran  gave a video message to the briefing,  in this massage she said:
...The only path to democratic change in Iran is to rely on the Iranian people and their organized resistance. 
The Iranian resistance is fighting with all its power to establish this goal and we hope that the United States congress will continue its support for the Iranian people in their quest for a free Iran. 
In another part of her message, referring to the Iranian regime in Syria, she said :
The clerical regime must be evicted from Syria, Iraq, and, the IRGC must be placed on the list of terrorist organizations.The Iranian people, with more than a century-long struggle for democracy and liberty, deserve a government that respects their fundamental rights.
