Revolution sign in Iran is on its way

Ahwaz protests in Iran: A sign of things to come?

Tensions continue to rise between the new US administration and Iran with a series of actions and reactions. Most recently, Iran has launched a new round of military drills, embarking on more provocative actions, while US allies such as Saudi Arabia and Israel have joined in by issuing what is described as twin warnings to Iran.
Ahvaz Protests a Prelude to Events Which Will Rattle the Mullahs' Entire Foundation

All the while, what should not go neglected is the simmering status inside Iran. The society is considered a powder keg as unrest continues to grow after 38 years of the mullahs’ atrocious dictatorship. The last four years of the so-called “moderate” or “reformist” Iranian President Hassan Rowhani has also failed to yield any demands raised by the people despite claiming to hold the “key” to all problems.

The city of Ahwaz in southwest Iran has been the scene of continuous unrest, as locals are protesting a slate of disastrous plans implemented by the mullahs’ regime to reroute Karoon River, a major source of water for agriculture and other vital aspects of life in this area where the summer is scorching hot.
These projects include also the diversion of waters from Karkhe River, excessive dam construction and the oil ministry resorting to inexpensive oil extraction methods. This practice, mainly implemented by the Revolutionary Guards, has fruited a long list of dried local lakes and ponds.
The result has been nothing but increasing air pollution and water and power being frequently cut off. To this end, the people’s very health is in danger as clean air to breath is literally hard to find.
Banks, administrative offices, schools and universities have been closed in nearly a dozen Khuzestan Province cities. Even oil production, which Tehran seems to boast to have escalated above 4 million barrels per day now, has suffered tremendously with a 770,000-barrel nosedive.

Khuzestan Electricity, Water and Communication Blackout Is Becoming National Threat

The protesters chant, "Death to tyranny", "death to repression"
A number of power stations in the Khuzestan province failed and water and electricity in most major cities of this province were cut off on February 11. The situation was blamed on heavy dust and humidity of almost 100%.
The people of Ahwaz have taken to the streets today for the third consecutive day to protest the disastrous air pollution and frequent water and power cut-offs in the capital of Khuzistan Province.
The clerical regime has intervened by suppressive forces and machine-gun-mounted vehicles over the past days and blocked the streets leading to the Governor's Building, the suspended bridge and the Firefighting Sq. to curb the spread of protests.

In Central Iran, coffee shop owners in Isfahan held a gathering in front of Isfahan Governor’s place on Sunday September 25 in protest against the closure of their shops. It is noteworthy that more than 400 coffee shops have been shut down in Isfahan in recent weeks.
On the morning of Saturday September 24, a group of agricultural engineering supervisors in Khuzestan (Southern Iran) gathered in front of Ministry of Agriculture in Ahwaz.
One of the demonstrators said that they have been promised to be hired in the Ministry from 2011, but after five years, still nothing has been done in this regard. The agricultural supervisors who were promised to be hired, have now more than six years of work experience.
He added: “for years we have been waiting to be hired and now that we’ve grown older, we can’t even apply for a job elsewhere.”
More than 150 of the agricultural engineering supervisors have applied for a job in the Ministry of Agriculture in Khuzestan, but their cases have not yet been dealt with.
The gathering in front of Khuzestan Agricultural Organization lasted for two hours. After receiving no response, the demonstrators then shifted to Khuzestan Management and Planning Organization.

Iran: Street vendors protest in Ahwaz

Street vendors protest in Ahwaz
NCRI - Street vendors in south western city of Ahwaz staged a gathering in front of the governorate to protest against removal of their sale stalls and not allocating a new place to them. They called on the regime’s officials to address their situation and designate a new location for them as their sales stalls.
A representative of the vendors who attended the gathering said: “It has been eight months since they collected and removed street vendors and they were supposed to designate new vending areas and allocate them sales stalls, but they still have not done anything and we are in limbo.”
He said that vending is the only source of income and livelihood for these people and emphasized: “Vendors of the city center are ready to cooperate with any plan to designate new vending areas on the condition of allocating proper sales stalls to them.”

Another vendor who was present in the protest gathering said: “We have been jobless for several months and have no income which has put a lot of financial pressure on us such that we did not pay our rent for several months and did not even enroll our children in school.”
He criticized the Ahwaz municipal enforcement officers dealing with street vendors and said: “These agents act in a manner as if they are faced with a handful of offenders and criminals, while the street vendors are working to earn a living.”
