Iran: Thousands Hold Protest Rally Outside Parliament in Tehran
Yesterday on Tuesday 22 August thousands of retired Iranian workers, teachers and other government pensioners from across Iran held a protest rally  outside the regime’s parliament demanding an increase in wages and health insurance and calling for the release of imprisoned teachers.
This protesters  arrived from the provinces of Alborz, Markazi, and Isfahan provinces in central Iran; Southern Khorasan, Northern Khorasan, Khorasan Razavi provinces in northeastern Iran; Gilan, Mazandaran, Semnan provinces in Northern Iran and western province of Kermanshah.
chantes of protesters were : “We are the retired, the forgotten,” “Never has a nation seen such injustice,” “I will protest at all costs,” “Our tables are empty of food, while you continue your lies,” “We have a right to a decent life, house and health,” “One less embezzlement, our problems will be resolved.”
They also chanted: “Workers, students, teachers, unite, unite,” “Free all political prisoners,” “Free all imprisoned teachers.”
Iranian Resistance hails protesters, calls on public and international organizations to support their cause.

IRGC have Beaten automaker Company's Workers

IranKhodro Company worker:“I can’t remain silent.We should stand up and do something.”
Revolutionary Guards (IRGC)in ‘Iran Khodro Company’ beat up a fed-up worker who protested against not being paid and poor working conditions, so that he was taken to hospital by his colleagues with broken nose and teeth.
He later released a clip in this regard, saying: “My fellow Iranians! I’m fed-up. Not for being beaten up, but for the humiliation at the hands of the regime which me and thousands of other workers have to suffer.”
He maintains at the end “I can’t remain silent. I’m tired of this life. We have nothing less than other countries. We should stand up and do something.”

Iran: protesting of the Workers and University Graduates

 Protest gathering by the 'Haft Tappeh' sugarcane factory workers in Khuzestan.

The workers in some Iranian cities have protested against the poor state of their livelihoods and the overdue payments. For example on Saturday 24th and Sunday 25th December 2016, the workers  protested against the poor state of their livelihoods and the overdue payments. In addition to that, the graduate students of the Petroleum University of Technology lodged a protest against the condition of employments.

Also Protest gathering by the 'Haft Tappeh' sugarcane factory workers in Khuzestan.

Sugarcane cutters in Haft Tappeh staged their second protest on Saturday, December 24, against nonpayment of their salaries.
“The Haft Tappeh sugarcane company has only paid a small portion of the salaries of its sugarcane cutters, who work under extremely difficult conditions”, said the protesting workers.

Iran: No Job Security in the Factories

The Workers of Vegetable Oil Company 

NCRI - As state run Ilna news agency reported,300 workers of ball bearings manufacturing of Tabriz (Northwestern Iran) protested against the overdue payments on Wednesday November 9th 2016.

According to workers, the total unpaid wages are equal to the one-month salary and they expect the employer to resolve the insurance problems as well as paying debts. The workers acknowledged that the critical economic condition has also affected their current condition and the inefficiency of management plays an important role as well.
The Workers of Vegetable Oil Company Are Uncertain 
Ilna news agency also reported, on Wednesday November 9th 2016, no measure has been taken by the employers of Golnaz Vegetable Oil Company to resume the factory's production and to pay the overdue salaries of their workers.
Golnaz Vegetable Oil Company was shut down in mid-August 2016 since the employer announced the so-called financial problems and the production unit stopped working. Since then, over 1200 workers became unemployed.

Workers of a Major Sugarcane Company 

NCRI - The Haft Tappeh Sugarcane Agro-Industrial Company’s Naybar workers held a protest rally on Tuesday November 8.

The Naybar workers gathered in the factory area and in front of the administrative building, demanding that their insurance claims be recognized.
According to ILNA state news agency, one of the protesting workers has said that the reason for their protest has been non-payment of the unemployment insurance premium for the Naybar workers who have been working at the company between 1999 to 2013. He pointed to another protest held by the workers in 2014 regarding the same issue and said that ”following the event, the government issued a directive according to which an amount of 25 billion tomans was dedicated to the workers’ unpaid unemployment insurance premiums.”

Redeemed Workers Hold a Protest Rally

NCRI - 300 workers of Lorestan’s Agro-industrial Complex gathered in front of  Lorestan (Western Iran) Governor’s place and demanded that their working conditions be dealt with.
Located at the 15th kilometer on the Khoramabad-Andimeshk road, the 1300-acre Lorestan Agro-industrial Complex was set up in 1976 to produce leather, meat products as well as cotton.
Following its closure in 2003, many of the complex workers were dismissed, but it was decided by the managers at the time that they would be invited back to work in case the factory resumed its operation.

Citadel (Arg-E-Bam) Restoration Project Workers Hold a Protest Gathering

NCRI - Workers involved in the ‘Bam Old Citadel Restoration Project’ in Kerman province (Southern Iran) held a protest gathering in front of the ‘Arg Cultural Heritage Base’ on October 30, to protest against non-payment of their overdue salaries.
One the protesting workers said: “we are about 118 workers who have not been paid by Bam Cultural Heritage Base for the past three months. Despite holding several labor gatherings, none of the officials at the Cultural Heritage Base has so far done anything to handle the situation.”
Specifically, the workers say that they have been hired since 2003 by Arg Cultural Heritage Base to implement the cultural complex restoration project, while the last three months of their salaries is still unpaid by the employer.
The protesting workers say that due to a lack of liquidity, the Arg Cultural Heritage Base as the main administrator of the Bam Old Citadel Restoration Project, is not able to pay the workers’ salaries and other charges on time, as a result of which the workers are in a poor economic and mental condition.

Firing Factory Workers with no unemployment Benefits

NCRI - According to news sources, 100 workers of Alborz Steel Factory in Takestan (Northwestern Iran) have been fired with their unemployment benefits undecided. One of the workers said in this regard that due to non-payment of insurance premium by the employer in the past16 months, the workers are not eligible to receive unemployment insurance benefits according to the insurance policy.
According to ILNA state news agency, about 150 workers have been working in this production unit, 100 of which have been fired so far in two occasions. The employer at this steel and rebar production unit has hired new work forces following their dismissal.
The laid-off worker have 15 years of work experience on average and their working contracts were renewed on a monthly basis.
Alborz Steel Factory workers state that all the workers are worried they’ll lose their job each month at the end of their contract. They added that 55 of their colleagues were also fired in March at the end of their work contracts.

NCRI - According to reports from Tehran, ‘High-Voltage station’ workers gathering in front of regime’s reactionary parliament, were forced to leave the area following the intervention of the suppressive law enforcement agents. The workers then gathered once again in front of the Management and Planning Organization as well as the parliament’s park area while wearing yellow helmets.
In Central Iran, coffee shop owners in Isfahan held a gathering in front of Isfahan Governor’s place on Sunday September 25 in protest against the closure of their shops. It is noteworthy that more than 400 coffee shops have been shut down in Isfahan in recent weeks.
On the morning of Saturday September 24, a group of agricultural engineering supervisors in Khuzestan (Southern Iran) gathered in front of Ministry of Agriculture in Ahwaz.
One of the demonstrators said that they have been promised to be hired in the Ministry from 2011, but after five years, still nothing has been done in this regard. The agricultural supervisors who were promised to be hired, have now more than six years of work experience.
He added: “for years we have been waiting to be hired and now that we’ve grown older, we can’t even apply for a job elsewhere.”
More than 150 of the agricultural engineering supervisors have applied for a job in the Ministry of Agriculture in Khuzestan, but their cases have not yet been dealt with.
The gathering in front of Khuzestan Agricultural Organization lasted for two hours. After receiving no response, the demonstrators then shifted to Khuzestan Management and Planning Organization.

Workers were prohibited to enter in Alborz Steel Factory

NCRI - On 22nd August 2016, Ilna News Agency reported that the workers of Alborz Steel factory (located in Ghazvin Province) protested on Sunday 21st of August and following this protest the employer of this industrial unit prohibited 150 workers from entering the workplace in the morning of 22nd August.

Following the repressive measures taken by the agents of the Mullahs' regime, the workers in solidarity with their coworkers lodged a protest in front of the entrance door of the factory for two days.


As one of the workers said: "After the protest, the employer said that each worker must sign a written pledge before entering the factory. According to that, no one is allowed to protest against the current status of wages. However, we protested against the 7-month overdue payments and benefits of 2015 plus the 16-month overdue payments of insurance by our employer to the social security organization. "
